May 28...Bangalore

Day #2 on my Mysore-Bangalore trip.

Hotel staff member at check out...

Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace (Dariya Daulat Bagh)in Srirangapatna...

I met this group for a third time on my trip. Are they following me?...

This is the entire group traveling with those pictured in the previous picture. The group includes family members and friends. They rented a bus to travel together for a week...

Gumbaz...tomb and mosque built by Tipu Sultan as a tribute to his illustrious father, Hyder Ali in Srirangapatna...

Another local water spot...
This is a ceremony to bless one who has died. In the Hindu religion, they burn the body following death and then bless the bone fragments in this special ritual. Then they toss the bones into the water...

My driver, Ranakrishna, drinking coconut water (if you ever get dehydrated, I am told to drink this)...

Drive back to Bangalore...

In India, the women usually ride on the motorcycle in this manner (sitting to the side), while men ride behind each other holding on to each other...

The road is shared with the carts pulled by cows, donkeys, and camels (don't see camels in south India, but stay tuned for the pictures taken of them in northern India in the state of Rajasthan)...

Another place of Tipu Sultan...this one in Bangalore...

Lal Bagh (Bagh means garden)...
Glass house...

Flower clock in Lal Bagh...

Vidhana Soudha, the legislative House of the State of Karnataka...

Seshadari Iyer Memorial, a distinctive building constructed of red sand stone in Cubbon Park, houses a public library and the Bangalore High Court...

Palace in Bangalore...

ISKCON Hare Krishna Temple (a huge Hindu temple complex that my driver took me through...interesting experience, but somewhat uncomfortable at times during this process)...

The plumeria (plant with flowers used to make the leis in Hawaii) grows abundantly here...(I have a few in Florida, but they are not this big and don't bloom as much...I love this plant)...

And so ends my Mysore-Bangalore trip...following the long overnight bus ride back to Chennai...
